Artist Yves Mathieu is celebrating transgender women with their S.H.E. art installation.

Last week, during the 163 pop-up by the Red Bull Music Festival, New York artist Yves Mathieu honored the trans community with an "immersive experience highlighting the stories of influential trans-women of color."
"These spaces were outfitted and designed for the girls and represent each girl and how they wanted to be seen," Tomas Seefried, creative direction and talent relations for the event, said.
Yves shared some images from the event with PRIDE and broke down the importance of allyship with our trans brothers and sisters through the acronym of the event, S.H.E.
S, for 'Solidarity'

"Solidarity means 'unity or agreement of feeling or action, especially among individuals with a common interest, mutual support within a group' and the word action rings louder than ever to me, because this installation is about taking action and using that feeling to bring about more action and hands-on involvement and interaction in our community and in our society in general."
H, for 'Honour'

"Honour means 'high respect or great esteem.' This word hits me because I asked myself when it came down to this project, 'How am I going to honour my community? How am I going to honour my people? How am I going to honour those who have lost their lives for a community I so proudly rejoice in? How will I honour the lives that can longer rejoice in any of this? How I’ll I honour the ones dearest to me, that can tell their own story from their own living, breathing lips?'"
E, for 'Equality'

"The state of being equal, especially in status, rights, and opportunities. To say we are all equal would be a complete farce, but the fight and passion to make us all equal is a never-ending, needed argument and this is one of the many steps that we need to take, and just like most things, it starts with conversation. In this case, it starts with an installation."
