Whatever you thought about Glee’s “Extraordinary Merry Christmas” episode, SheWired readers will likely agree, it was painfully Santana-light compared to recent weeks’ storylines.
While Naya Rivera didn’t get a lot of solos, a tango with Brittany (Heather Morris), or any sweet lady kisses, Glee producers wanted to give a little gift to the legions of lesbian fans. So they released a deleted special solo scene, cut for time, of Santana singing the sexy classic, “Santa Baby.”
Rivera, looking and sounding smokin’ hot as ever, teased the boys, as Brittany is noticeably absent in the clip. The Hollywood Reporter sets the deleted scene as one where “Rivera's Santana helps a very lost looking Finn (Cory Monteith) shop for Rachel's pricey holiday gift.”
We are still waiting for an actual sweet lady kiss from McKinley's High's girl couple. Producers should have broken out the mistletoe. Still, how could they deny viewers Naya Rivera? While we appreciate the “Santa Baby” stocking stuffer song, we were hoping for a bigger presence in the sweet holiday-themed special.
But not all is lost. For fans that just can’t get enough of her voice, rest assured, Rivera’s version of “Santa Baby” did make the cut for the cast’s second Christmas album.
