The Producers Guild of America announced its picks for the 10 nominees for Best Picture of the Year, and David Fincher’s version of The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, the first part of Stieg Larsson’s Millenium trilogy about bisexual computer hacker and all-around badass Lisbeth Salander, is among the films chosen.
Last year, the PGA’s list of nominated films matched nine of 10 to the nominees for the Best Picture Oscar, according to EW. The PGA Awards will take place on January 21, 2012.
The PGA’s other picks for potential Best Picture films include The Artist, Bridesmaids, The Descendants, The Help, Hugo, The Ides of March, Midnight in Paris, Moneyball and War Horse.
But the gay (and gay-adjacent) nominations don’t end there! The Best TV Comedy and Best TV Drama categories both have shows with regular LGBT characters.
In the category for Best Comedy, Glee (featuring lesbian, gay and bisexual characters) and Modern Family (featuring gay dads) are up against 30 Rock, The Big Bang Theory and Parks and Recreation. The Good Wife, which costars another bisexual badass, Archie Panjabi's Kalinda, is up for Best Drama, along with Boardwalk Empire, Dexter, Game of Thrones and Mad Men.
With so many nominations having lots of lady-loving, we can’t wait to see who takes home the awards.
