Sunday’s episode of The Good Wife offered just about the hottest girl/girl sex scene on television between bisexual investigator extraordinaire Kalinda (Archie Panjabi) and FBI Special Agent Lana Delaney (Jill Flint).

SheWired recapped the scene in which Kalinda –there’s no subtle way to put this—finger banged Lana. Now, The Good Wife producers Robert and Michelle King have spoken to Entertainment Weekly about negotiating the scene with members of CBS’ Standards & Practices division.

“There was what we all came to know as the ‘genital manipulation shot,’” Robert told EW.

Kalinda and Lana were both fully clothed (with Lana wearing a robe), the scene was shot from mid-torso up, but due in great part to Emmy winner Panjabi’s and Flint’s stellar acting chops there was no doubt about what was going on in the off-screen space.

“It’s very funny to talk with Standards & Practices, who are all very nice people, and negotiate how much we could see of a thrusting hand and so on,” Robert said. “Jill Flint and Archie Panjabi did such a wonderful job in the scene. We’ve always thought sexiness was better played on the face, but it was difficult to get around [what was happening below frame]. All we could do was plead the fact that you couldn’t see the scene if you framed it any differently. I think we compromised slightly — we would have gone out maybe another few inches…”Robert continued.

Michelle added, “We made sure that one didn’t see anything that was objectionable. We couldn’t work around what an audience member might imagine.”

For those of you who missed it here are Panjabi and Flint. The scene begins at about the two-minute mark.
