'Dollhouse' and Dushku Trek into Lesbian Territory?

Dollhouse star Eliza Dushku said earlier this year there would'definitely' be some gay and lesbian subtext on the second season of the show, which launched on Friday. From a brief scene in the premiere episode, it looks like the show is about to live up to Dushku's promise. While lesbian fans are pining for Summer Glau to appear, Dushku nearly indulged in a girl-on-girl kiss with Amy Acker's hot doc.

Dollhouse star Eliza Dushku said earlier this year there would'definitely' be some gay and lesbian subtext on the second season of the show, which launched on Friday. From a brief scene in the premiere episode, it looks like the show is about to live up to Dushku's promise.

Eliza Dushku, formerly known as the smoking hot slayer Fait on Buffy the Vampire Slayer, told HollywoodCrush.mtv.com back in June that the second season of Dollhouse would include some gay and lesbian flavors in at least a few episodes. "We have a lot of stories that we're
looking forward to telling," Dushku said, "We aim to be socially and
politically relevant."

On Friday, the second season of Joss Whedon's Dollhouse premiered, thankfully with a bit of real punch after a somewhat disappointing second half of the last season. Queer girl fans of the show are already slavering over the promise of seeing Summer Glau guest on the show, but she hasn't popped up yet.

But Friday night the girls got a special bonus nod to whet their appetite for that future promised gay
and lesbian subtext.

(continued)

After Echo (Dushku) gets whacked in the head during a mission, her poor overloaded brain goes haywire and starts jumping all over the place. During one of the flashback scenes in her head, Echo sees herself getting seriously friendly with fellow doll/doctor Whiskey (Amy Acker) and starting to go in for what looks like the prelude to a
liplock.

Sadly, the camera cuts before the two girls start making out -- but it is so very implied.

With such a loaded teaser, we're hoping Dollhouse will really make good on Dushku's promise that gays and lesbians will see representation on the second season of the show. Anything else would just be cruel!
