Swedish actress Noomi Rapace (The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo) is slated to star in a currently untitled biopic about 60s Swedish pop culture icon Anita Lindbolm directed by Twilight director Catherine Hardwicke, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Rapace will play Lindbolm, while her ex-husband, Ola Rapace, will take the role of Swedish and European boxing champion Bosse Hogberg, whose whirlwind romance and turbulent marriage to Lindbolm served as sustenance to the tabloids in Europe for years.
The Rapaces have been developing the Lindbolm biopic several years - well before The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo trilogy made Noomi Rapace an international star. Ola Rapace has spent the last four years training in order to be fit enough to play the boxing champion.
The film, written by Peter Birro and produced by Helena Danielsson of Hepp Film, is set to begin filming in Sweden this fall. Nordisk has the Scandinavian rights to the film, and plans for a territorial release there in the winter of 2012.
