‘Codependent Lesbian Alien Seeks Same’ at NYC’s Rooftop Film Festival

What better way to kick off New York Pride weekend than watching a funny movie about lesbian aliens, under the stars, with more lesbians?! Utopia… yes, I agree.

Madeleine Olnek’s geeky comedy Codependent Lesbian Alien Seeks Same will be featured at this year’s Rooftop Film Festival in New York on Friday night, June 24.

The film stars Susan Ziegler as “Zoinx” Lisa Haas as “Jane” who strike up a romance. All the while, two government agents are tracking Jane in hopes of locating the spaceship.

Shewired Editor, Tracy E. Gilchrist, describes the film as “an Earth Girls are Easy meets John Sayles’ Brother From Another Planet meets anything from classic B-movie director Ed Wood vibe… – complete with a Theremin and cheesy effects.”

The film has received positive reviews from The Hollywood Reporter calling it “A hilarious date movie for couples of all orientations,” and Variety proclaiming, “‘Sweet, funny, clever comedy seeks crossover’ would be the Craigslist come-on for “Codependent Lesbian Space Alien Seeks Same.”

The film will also be sweeping the festival circuit with screenings in Seattle, Toronto, San Francisco, Philadelphia and Los Angeles at Outfest.
