Girl Fight! First Time In History Women Headline MMA Fight Card

Girl FIGHT! No, not two lesbians at last call. For the first time in Mixed Martial Arts history, women will be the headline on a major MMA fight card. The first is none other than Gina Carano. She comes to this fight with a (7-0) record. Her opponent is Chris Santos and she comes with a (7-1) record.

GIRL FIGHT!! That’s right…I said it…and I don’t mean any watered-down pillow fight either. OK…so the pillow fight would be a good thing, but this is not that kind of tussle. This is going to be a battle royal.

For the first time in Mixed Martial Arts history, women will be the headline on a major MMA fight card. The only thing better than that news is who the fighters are. The first is none other than Gina Carano. She comes to this fight with a (7-0) record. Her opponent is Chris Santos and she comes with a (7-1) record. With both fighters dismantling their opponents back in early October, this showdown between arguably the two best female MMA fighters had to happen.

Note: The rest of this article is going to be a little confusing for people not familiar with MMA, so I’d suggest switching your thinking from boxing positions to sexual positions and enjoy the rest of the article that way…

Both women are great strikers and Muay-Thai specialists. They both prefer to remain on their feet than go to the ground, although both are very comfortable there. Carano has one submission victory via rear naked choke, three KOs and three judge decisions. Santos has been submitted once via leglock, has four KOs and two judge decisions.

This fantasy fight will air on Showtime this Saturday at 10:30 PM EST. That will give you plenty of time to grab a bite to eat and get that food digested, because this is going to be a brutal fight. The favorite right now seems to be Carano, but that might be just because she has more notoriety. I think this will go all 5 five-minute rounds, and hope Carano will get the judges’ decision.
