The UConn Huskies were hosted by President Obama at the White House Monday to celebrate their most recent NCAA championship, USA Today is reporting.
The two-time national champions convened in the East Room where Obama touted their impressive winning streak. "I want to point out this team has not lost a game since I was elected president. You know, during the entire season, I just kept on repeating, and I truly believe, this was the best team in all of sports, any sport, any gender, by far."
It has become customary for the sitting President to meet with the championship teams from most college and professional sports. And to put their domination of college athletics into perspective, Geno Auriemma, head coach of the Huskies, has met with three: Bill Clinton, George W. Bush and President Obama.
The Huskies will start next season with their 78-game winning streak intact.
