Out bisexual Brazilian superstar Anitta is now signed to Republic Records, a music label under Universal Music Group (via Variety).

Republic Records is one of the most prominent record labels in the music industry. The label’s current roster of artists includes the likes of Taylor Swift, Ariana Grande, Drake, The Weeknd, Nicki Minaj, Kim Petras, and Post Malone, among others.

Best known for hits like “Envolver,” “Downtown,” “La Loto,” and “Dançarina,” Anitta is one of the fastest-growing Latinx LGBTQ+ singers in the world. Under Republic Records, there’s also a chance that she could have access to collaborate with the label’s extensive roster of high-profile artists.

After taking over pop music in Brazil, Anitta is now on her way to conquering the world with her unique perspectives and artistry.

The signing with Republic Records comes on the heels of Anitta parting ways with Warner Music. The artist had a very dramatic relationship with Warner that involved many years of grievances and disagreements. Overall, Anitta felt like Warner did not support her work and decisions. She also claimed that the label did not promote her music.

As of 2023, Anitta recently released a new song, “Pilantra,” with queer artist Jão. She threw a giant birthday party to celebrate her 30 years of age with the likes of Lil Nas X and Pabllo Vittar. Later in the year, she is also set to appear in the seventh season of Élite on Netflix.

Anitta signing with Republic Records is a huge deal for the Brazilian star. Go, Anitta, go!
