I used to be against lifting weights because I was scared that I would bulk up and not lose any weight—but holy shit was I wrong. Once my BFF (who also happens to be a personal trainer) told me that the only way women can lose weight is by lifting, a whole new world opened up to me.

And I’ve seen results! I’m naturally very strong, but the more I lift, the smaller I become, the stronger I become, and the more confident I become. Lifting isn’t just for boys. There’s lots of reasons why women should lift and why you should absolutely date a women who lifts.

1. They’re strong.

You have to continually lift weight and gradually increase your weight.

2. They’re fit.

A body that lift weights is a body that is constantly becoming more and more fit. Not only the muscles, but also the heart.

3. They care about their health.

If you meet a woman who knows her way around the weight room at a gym, that’s because she cares enough to know. Which means that her body’s health matters to her.

4. They understand how the body works.

Most women don’t start lifting weights until they realize the positive things that weight lifting offers.

5. They are passionate about exercising.

Because it requires a bit of skill to know the correct form needed to lift weights

6. They are confident.

When you feel strong you also feel confident. Those words are basically synonymous.

7. They like setting goals.
