Kreayshawn’s Lesbian Rumors: On The Record

The “Gucci Gucci” singer is being linked to fellow female rappers as lesbian rumors about a relationship with Da Brat fly. Get the real deal on Kreayshawn.

Hip-hop’s labeled Kreayshawn the next big thing, and the “Gucci Gucci” singer is being linked to fellow female rappers as lesbian rumors about a relationship with Da Brat fly.

So what’s the real deal?

Last week, tabloid site MediaTakeOut.com reported that the two had been carrying on a lesbian affair. Da Brat dismissed the claim via Twitter, posting: “Yooo! I just got word that I’m supposed to be an item with Kreayshawn? We haven’t even talked or had a conversation yet?? Dat jus mean we both da shit!!”

Kreayshawn confirmed the gossip was false, telling KMEL’s DJs, “I like that rumor, but it wasn’t true.” But that’s not to say she’d be opposed to the idea. “But you never know” she continued. “Hey, I got her number. I might hit her up and be like, ‘Hey.’”

While she’s not dating Da Brat, Kreayshawn is forthcoming about her relationships with women, telling Complex magazine earlier this summer:

As far as relationships go, it hasn't really been on my mind. I can't really speak for anyone else, but I'm not a raging lesbian, I can tell you that. I'm an occasional lesbian, but it's more for me about a personal connection. I'm a creative person. I'm a busy person. I'm not seeking anything out be it color or gender or anything. I'm just out here in the free world doing the free thing.

Kreayshawn recently joked she's currently crushing on Nicki Minaj: “I love Nicki. She fine. I’d kiss her everywhere.”

That’s a bit of an about face from the MC’s interview with Complex. When asked about the “Pink Friday” singer, Kreayshawn said, "Honestly man, this is no disrespect to Nicki Minaj because she's got talent. She's got an image. But when it comes to inspiring young women, her message is to be a Barbie — to be plastic, to be fake, to all have blonde hair. ... My whole thing is, hopefully, when I come out, girls aren't trying to dress like me. They're taking their effort to go find their own style, own voice and own brand like I did."

Meanwhile, her music continues to take off. Kreayshawn’s YouTube music video for “Gucci Gucci” has over 12 million views and climbing.
