Linda Perry and Sara Gilbert Are Engaged!

The Talk’s Sara Gilbert, 38, announced that she will marry her girlfriend rocker Linda Perry, during Monday’s episode.

Gilbert and her lady love, singer/songwriter Perry, 47 of 4 Non Blondes fame, have been together since late 2011, after Gilbert and TV producer Alison Adler (Glee, The New Normal) split in August that same year.

According to Us Weekly, Gilbert opened up about the engagement saying that it was an elaborate, musical proposal in an L.A. park in front of numerous family and friends. Perry arranged for a guitarist, and other musicians to play their song (The Cure’s "Love Song"), while she wore a series of shirts that read, "Will you Marry Me?"

"I think that's it’s—it's like the most amazing proposal ever," Gilbert told her Talk co-hosts.
But Perry wasn’t finished there. According to Us, Perry also asked John Waite to perform one of Gilbert’s favorite (sad) love songs, "Missing You."

"We had our proposal with our breakup song, which is great," Gilbert joked.

Perry is widely known for her hit single "What’s Up" with the 4 Non Blondes, as well as for her writing credits for Pink ("Get the Party Started"), Christina Aguilera ("Beautiful"), Alicia Keys ("Superwoman") and Gwen Stefani’s "What You Waiting For?"

Gilbert was a child star, starring as Darlene Connor on Roseanne, before getting her gig on The Talk. She came out publicly in 2010.
