Will we see it this summer?

Montero was great, but fans are already clamoring for a new album from Lil Nas X. And he’s ready to tease it out.

Earlier this week, a fan account wrote that “Lil Nas X revealed that his next album is gonna be more of a ‘turn up’ album. He says it’s gonna be a party,” referring to red carpet remarks made by the rapper at the Grammys.

Lil Nas himself retweeted it, giving the description legitimacy, and adding: “something fun, something for the summertime, something for the girls to get ready and party to.”

Anyone who spends time on the internet will probably recognize those familiar words, but just because the “Industry Baby” singer is channeling Saweetie in his tweet doesn’t mean he won’t deliver.

We don’t have tons of details about the follow up to Montero just yet, but Lil Nas previously teased two songs — “Late to the Party” featuring NBA YoungBoy and “Down Souf Hoes” featuring Saucy Santana.

With Lil Nas, it’s always hard to say what’s real and what’s a joke post, but he did tweet earlier in March that his new album is “close to finished,” and shared some music snippets.

Whether the album comes out in time to be something fun for the summertime remains to be seen, but whatever happens, we know Lil Nas won’t disappoint.
