Demi Lovato's next era is nigh and this time, they're returning to their roots.

Answering many fans' prayers, Lovato has picked the electric guitar back up and is reentering the pop-punk pool, a genre many long-time-listeners remember from her debut albums Don't Forget and Here We Go Agan.

While their last few records have honed in R&B and pop sounds, Lovato's been calling the new genre jump the best she's ever sounded. "Getting emotional listening to my new album because I’m so proud of it,” said Lovato recently. “It’s my absolute best yet and so representative of me, where I started and who I am today.”

"Skin of My Teeth" is the name of the lead single on the album, they confirmed in a Twitter exchange.

"SKIN OF MY TEETH IS THE LEAD ACCORDING TO THE STREETS" one fan wrote on Twitter. "What street," another replied. Lovato then jumped into comments and confirmed it with a simple, “My street."
