A videographer in Ohio blatantly turned down a lesbian couple seeking to have their wedding filmed.
"Unfortunately at this time I do not offer services for same-sex weddings, but thank you for your inquiry!" was the response Jenn Moffitt and Jerra Kincely, a same-sex couple in Ohio were told by a videographer after requesting information for their upcoming nuptials. Kincely and Moffitt were reaching out to vendors for their February wedding, including a small video production business, "Next Door Stories," in Bexley Ohio when they got this answer, reports CNN. Bexley is a town that doesn't prohibit discrimination based on sexual orientation, leading Kincely and Moffitt to reach out to the Bexley Area Chamber of Commerce.
The couple filed a complaint against the business through the Bexley Area Chamber of Commerce via Facebook, who after a discussion with the organization and its board, came to the conclusion that the discrimination policy needs to be rewritten saying, "The Chamber Board believes that discrimination in any form is wrong and should not be tolerated."
The Facebook post from the couple was met with not only a positive response from the Bexley Area Chamber of Commerce but also the community at large, writing supportive, positive messages. Moffitt proclaimed, "The outpouring from strangers has been absolutely amazing."
