Out country music star Chely Wright and her activist fiancée, Lauren Blitzer, are set to say “I do” on Saturday, August 20 in Connecticut, one of six states where gay marriage is legal.
The New York based couple announced their engagement this spring and this weekend, Wright and Blitzer will walk down the aisle in Jose Dias-designed white gowns, and legally marry in front of their loved ones.
“And so begins the fun,” Wright tweeted at the start of the week. “Friends and family are driving/flying in from all over for our special day! @lulublitzer and I feel lucky!”
“It's been a really exciting time,” Wright toldE! Onlinewhile planning the nuptials. “We fit so well. And the best part is that our families go so beautifully together.”
And after marriage, comes baby for the beautiful couple? “We want a family,” Wright told E!. “The benefit of being out is I get to have everything that everyone else has.”
