The ladies of the view took turns gushing over lesbian liberal Rachel Maddow while they had her at the table. Even Elisabeth Hasselbeck-wards showered the self proclaimed "big lesbian" with praise, telling Maddow she had "a tremendous amount of respect from people" and does "an exceptional job."
Maddow shared some heartfelt sentiments about the love of her life, her partner of ten years, Susan. The two met while Maddow was working odd jobs in graduate school, including as a gardner. Maddow joked it was "sort of a gay Desperate Housewives."
The MSNBC anchorwoman also recounted the tale of her coming out. Which she regrets was not initially to her parents. When asked if she thought they knew, Maddow admitted they must have had a clue. She mentioned several times the Popeye-esque phrase, "I am who I am". There's that authentic, candid intelligent woman we've all grown to admire!
