Subways are not free sprawling spaces

The interwebs have been abuzz recently in a debate over the newly-coined term affectionately known as "manspreading." If you are unfamiliar with the term, it refers to the legs-wide-open sitting position that guys so often assume while riding any form of public transportation, most notably subways.

If you've ever been on a subway seated next to a manspreader, it's not the most pleasant experience.  Entire Tumblrs have been devoted to this phenomenon, as well as response Tumblrs of men defending the need to give space for their balls (because that is the most commonly cited reason guys give as to why they just HAVE to take up so much damn room all the time).  I'm sorry, but I really can't feel sympathetic about the balls thing--girls exist in varying modes of discomfort on the daily in order to operate in the world (high heels, tight ass clothes, constantly making room for all those manspreading men, etc.).  Here's a fun experiment you can do to test the male assumption that he owns whatever space he's occupying: the next time you are walking down a sidewalk and are on a collision course with a male stranger, do not move out of the way to avoid bumping into him.  I guarantee that you two will collide, as men inherently expect women to be the ones to give the right of way in a situation like this and never move on their own.

Well, a brilliant team over at Gothamist decided to make a video calling out guys on their selfish/entitled subway sitting and the result is pretty great.  Without further ado:
