Donald Trump was in Paris Thursday, where he gave a speech honoring the historic ties between the U.S. and France.
And as the speech turned into a pseudo-history lesson, Trump couldn't help but comment on his vast knowledge of the invasion of Normandy during World War II.
In a moment to honor three U.S. soldiers who took part in the historic D-Day invasion, Trump said, "With us are three American veterans of D-Day. I've read so much about D-Day, very brave people."
It was a signature Trump moment, and he proudly tweeted video of the speech

But people couldn't get over his need to inflate his knowledge of D-Day:
The roasting intensified:
The press wasn't allowed to attend, and now maybe we know why:
\u201cPress not allowed to attend this Trump event at the US embassy in Paris, but @Scavino45 posted video. https://t.co/mrjlTtCLf7\u201d— Jennifer Jacobs (@Jennifer Jacobs) 1499950840
Twitter seemed embarrassed for Trump:
