The creative powers behind the It Gets Better project and Web Therapy have teamed up for the docuseries It Got Better, featuring in-depth stories of LGBT people who live openly and happily in the public eye.

The six-part series from Dan Savage, Lisa Kudrow (Web Therapy, Friends), and Dan Bucatinsky (Scandal) kicks off with Jane Lynch’s moving story of coming out in the ‘70s. During her interview she credits the New York piano bars of the late ‘70s with helping her to come out. “I found my people,” she says. While Jane admits she was terrified to come out when she was young she now says, “I live in a world where I don’t give a shit if you have a problem with who I am.”

The series also features Tegan & Sara, Laverne Cox, Tim Gunn, George Takei, and Jason Collins, according to The Huffington Post.
