#TBT Out Women of the Emmy Awards

With the Emmy Awards around the corner we're throwing back to some of our favorite out winners and nominees.

In honor of the 66th Primetime Emmy Awards this Monday we thought we'd do a #ThrowbackThursday to out women who've won and who've been nominated for Emmys. We included the daytime Emmys in our #TBT because it just felt wrong to fail to mention Ellen DeGeneres and Rosie O'Donnell. This is by no means a comprehensive round-up as we just don't have access to really old pics of the likes of Kristy McNichol and Sara Gilbert winning their Emmys. That said, there are a lot of really talented queer women out there, and we're rooting for Jodie Foster this Monday!

Ellen wins double Emmys in the early days of her talk show in 2004. Of course she would go on to sweep for the next decade.

Anna Paquin was nominated for the HBO movie Bury My Heart at Wounded Knee in 2007.

Jane Lynch picked up the Emmy for Glee in 2010.

Lily Tomlin won several Emmys in the '70s for her specials but this is a #TBT to 2008 when Lily joined the cast of Laugh In for a reunion.

Wanda Sykes won an Emmy for writing for The Chris Rock Show back in 1999, but since there were no pics of that win available we threw it back to Wanda at the Emmy Awards in 2003.

Cynthia Nixon picks up the statue for her role as Miranda on Sex and the City in 2004.

Rosie won the Daytime Emmy for Best Talk Show Host for several years in a row, but here she is picking up gold in 2002.

The stunning Evan Rachel Wood scored a nomination for playing the vicious Veda opposite Kate Winslet in HBO's adaptation of Mildred Pierce in 2011.

Cherry Jones made it halfway to EGOT when she picked up her gold for playing the President on 24 in 2009.

Jodie Foster was nominated for her first Emmy in 1999 for executive producing the Showtime movie The Baby Dance, which starred Laura Dern and Stockard Channing. She's nominated Monday for directing the "Lesbian Request Denied" episode of Orange Is the New Black, and we're crossing our fingers she'll pick up her first Emmy.  Here's Jodie back in 1999 with a mystery escort.
