WATCH: Ellen Page and Kate Mara Win the Internet in Funny or Die Parody "Tiny Detectives"

Ellen Page and Kate Mara haven't been shy about their passionate desire to co-star in the second season of the hit HBO series True Detective. But while HBO may not have taken their pleas very seriously (alas, Colin Farrell and Vince Vaughn were just announced as the new season's leads), Funny Or Die heard their cries and delivered us the next best thing; a hysterical parody. We've known there would be something pretty priceless to look forward to since we first glimpsed the girls giving us their fiercest detective glares in our recent Pic of the Day. Now, the day has finally come, and "Tiny Detectives" is the best kind of adorable absurdity. With dead serious dedication, intensity, and southern accents, watch as the exceptionally petite actresses attempt to solve some pretty big crimes...about as inefficiently as possible. HBO, let this be a lesson to you that you totally missed out on the best casting choice in the world. We'd definitely watch a full-length series of "Tiny Detectives," but for now we'll just settle for watching this trailer over and over and over. Enjoy!
