WATCH: Rachel Maddow a Fan of Secret Lesbian Love Story

It isn't often that Rachel Maddow does an interview about a new book, but she made an exception this week for the story of a secret lesbian love story. 

Author Terry Mutchler sat down with Maddow to talk about her new book, Under This Beautiful Dome, in which Mutchler shares about her affair with Illinois state senator Penny Severns — who never came out publicly while still alive.

This being Illinois, there's even a tie to President Obama.
