Wednesday's horrific school shooting in Parkland, Florida, which has now left 17 students and adults from a local high school killed, is now being regarded as one of the deadliest school shootings in modern American history.
President Donald Trump gave remarks in the aftermath of the shooting and arrest of the gunman that largely rested on topics of school safety, while neglecting to provide a feasible plan for gun control.
Despite the lack of support from the executive branch of government, there is much support and grief coming from an outraged public and countless notable figures.
We've rounded up some sentiments posted on Twitter.
