A few weeks ago it was announced that partners in life and business, Portia de Rossi and Ellen DeGeneres, have teamed up for a project that DeGeneres is executive producing and stars de Rossi,  Entertainment Weekly reported.

Now, Malin Akerman (The Comeback, Couples Retreat andChildren’ Hospital) will play de Rossi’s sister in the ABC sitcom pilot The Smart One, according to TV Line.

The sitcom revolves around a “brilliant and successful woman who begrudgingly goes to work for her less-brainy but more popular sister – a former beauty queen, weather girl and now big-city Mayor,” according to the show’s logline released on EW.

De Rossi plays Jude the “smart one” and Akerman will play the Candy, the dumb one in the single-camera (30 Rock, The Office, Arrested Development) sitcom, TV Line reports.
