Marie Osmond to Talk Teen Suicide on Oprah

Marie Osmond is opening up to Oprah about her teenage son Michael’s suicide, saying she never thought she’d have the strength to talk about it, but felt she had to because of the recent rash of teen suicides.
Osmond is due to appear on the talk show later this month. Her 18-year-old son Michael Blosil jumped from his apartment balcony in February after alerting a friend to a suicide note. But the interview will also touch on other aspects of Osmond’s life, including, possibly, her daughter, who is gay.

"This will be the hardest interview Marie has ever done," a friend close to the entertainer tells Popeater.

"Marie never imagined she would have the strength to talk about this devastating subject, but with so many gay teens committing suicide recently she had no choice.”

Last May, after tabloid stories surfaced outing Osmond’s daughter Jessica, Marie did an interview with Los Angeles radio station KOST 103.5, confirming the rumors and saying she loves and supports her daughter and she believes civil rights should be for all.
