As if Fox's Glee weren’t already great, the show just keeps finding ways to make me love it more. Monday's news was music to this sci-fi fan's ears: Buffy the Vampire Slayer writer-director Joss Whedon has been tapped to guest direct an episode of the Fox musical dramadey set to air later this season.
While Fox is home to Whedon's struggling drama Dollhouse, starring hottie and Buffy alum Eliza Dushku and has been known to stab Whedon fans in the heart (you know, canceling Firefly too soon), the network is starting to redeem itself.
First the network brought back Dollhouse for a second season in an eleventh-hour rescue for fans and creatives involved with the show. Second, the network recently announced that the Glee cast will hit the road for a national tour, American Idol-style. Now that Whedon will take the helm of the Ryan Murphy show, they're really making it hard for me to root against them.
Now if they can sit back and take some more of my suggestions for Whedon's episode of Glee:

Whedon — who also has musical experience under his belt with Buffy's musical episode "Once More, With Feeling," and Web sensation Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog — should bring on some of his Buffy family for his Glee episode. And who better than his Dollhouse babe Eliza Dushku? Let's get The Doosh to dust off her cheerleading uniform from Bring It On and have a face-off with Quinn Fabray (Dianna Agron) about that pregnancy of hers.
Then, there has to be a way for Whedon to get Dr. Horrible, Dollhouse and Buffy alum — and "The Guild's" Internet superbabe — Felicia Day into the episode. I'm thinking Day squares off in a sing-off with Glee superstar Rachel Berry (Lea Michele) as the spunky leader of a rival school's glee club.
But who can take down Glee's Cheerio coach Sue Sylvester (Jane Lynch)? It's time to call in the troops: Sarah Michelle Gellar and Alyson Hannigan. Can you see it? SMG and Hannigan are lesbian parents of one of the anti-child Coach Sylvester and have a meeting with her about how to properly treat children. Imagine, the woman who says great one-liners like, "I empower my Cheerios to live in fear by creating an environment of irrational, random terror," being told to use more compassion from the Slayer and her best Witch.
And lastly, we can't leave out Glee coach Will Schuester (Matthew Morrison). Who wouldn't like to see Mr. S get some Glee advice from the Master Watcher? Time to call in Rupert Giles (Anthony Head) to share some words of wisdom on motivating the Glee club, fighting off vampires like Coach Sylvester and winning over fans everywhere.
So really Mr. Whedon, it's up to you. The possibilities are endless, and our requests are many. Make it happen. The world — and all us loyal lesbian Buffy and Glee fans — need you.
