Maitreyi Ramakrishnan isn’t interested in labeling her sexuality — gender just isn’t that important to her.

The Never Have I Everstar got candid about dating during a recent discussion with Laverne Cox for E!’s If We’re Being Honest.

“Too many people annoy me, so I don’t even…you gotta pass that first,” she said. “But for me, I’m very much so a personality person. If you get that banter with me, you can read my face perfectly, I don’t care if you’re a boy, girl or in between. You are my person, and you are just the package that that person comes in.”

“I’m very much so about the personality and I don’t really do any labels for attraction. It’s just someone who understands me,” she added.

Despite her openness when it comes to dating, Ramakrishnan also shared that she’s currently single, and absolutely happy to just be “doing me and being there for myself.”

“I think I’m just more of a badass when I’m single,” she admitted.

At just 20 years old, it makes perfect sense for the actress to take some time to focus on herself instead of worrying about jumping into a relationship.

Her Netflix series, Never Have I Ever, wrapped filming in August, with the fourth and final season expected to air sometime in 2023. She also voiced characters in Pixar’s Turning Red and several iterations of My Little Pony this year.
