Mistress Isabelle Brooks has been one of the funniest queens on season 15 of RuPaul’s Drag Race, and her hilarious stories go beyond what’s being shown throughout the season and during Untucked.

Though some viewers don’t understand Brooks’ old-school drag sensibilities, longtime fans of the series have been absolutely living for this original taste of Drag Race that we’ve been getting in season 15. What’s more, Brooks clearly had a blast filming Drag Race, as the Texas queen is full of funny stories from her time in the werk room.

The latest episode of Drag Race (season 15, episode 12) featured “Wigloose: The Rusical,” where Brooks played the character of Preacher Teacher. In the challenge, Brooks held up a copy of RuPaul’s most recent book, GuRu.

“When we were filming ‘Wigloose’ there’s a part in the Rusical where we use the book GuRu by RuPaul as one of the props. When I was on set, I was a kleptomaniac and would take everything that wasn’t bolted down,” Brooks explained. “So I stole the book we were using because I thought it was just a prop.”

The season 15 star continued, “But it turned out to be one of the producers’ personal book and they were going crazy looking for it. That sh*t was so scary, I gave them the book back though because I didn’t want them to search my stuff and find the Jewelry, wigs, and piece of the werk room wall I stole.”

“Then when we were on the main stage I apologized to Ru and admitted I stole the book,” Brooks concluded, “and she said, ‘Well… cue the snipers.’”

Through all of the shade – “the shade of it all!” – Brooks has been a fierce contestant and a hilarious storyteller relaying her Drag Race experiences on social media. Whether you like her or not, Brooks has been an absolute standout in the cast of season 15… and we’re obsessed!

RuPaul’s Drag Race season 15 airs Fridays on MTV.
