Today President Obama awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom to 21 actors, musicians, artists, innovators and athletes who have inspired him over the years. Among the honorees were Michael Jordan, Bill Gates, Diana Ross, Bruce Springstein and of course, Ellen Degeneres.
The comedian and talk show host took the stage as the announcer commended her on her “courage and candor [which] helped change the hearts and mind of millions of Americans, accelerating our nation’s constant drive towards equality.”
Be prepared to clap, then sob, then cheer as President Obama award the medal to Ellen.
