Here's a First Look at Dreamer, the Trans Superhero on 'Supergirl'

A new teaser trailer for the upcoming fourth season of the CW's popular Supergirl series was just released, and in it, we get to see Nina Nia—a.k.a Dreamer, TV's first transgender superhero—for the first time!

As previously reported, the role of Dreamer will be played by transgender activist and actor Nicole Maines. 

"It seems only fitting that we have a trans superhero for trans kids to look up to," she said during the official announcement at San Diego Comic Con earlier this year.

"I want fans to take away an understanding of trans people. We can be anybody, we can be who we want, we can be superheroes—because in many ways we are," Maines then told Variety.

We can't wait to see Maines kick butt on the new season of Supergirl when it returns to the CW on October 14!
