A new Detective Pikachu trailer AND Pokémon Sword/Shield game announcements?! In the same week?!

23 years after the initial release of its first two video games (the iconic Red and Blue), the Pokémon media franchise is the biggest and strongest it's probably ever been, and after this week, they're giving their loyal fans everything they could ever ask for.

Just yesterday, a new trailer for the CGI/live-action Detective Pikachu movie dropped, giving viewers a new look at what to expect when it hits theaters in May.

While we're still not 100 percent sure how we feel about our forever-daddy Ryan Reynolds voicing one of this generation's most beloved (and cutest) icons, so many eager fans loved every second of the new trailer.

And in other related news, during the Pokémon Direct presentation from earlier this morning, Nintendo announced the launch of two new Pokémon games for the Nintendo Switch! Sword and Shield!

The biggest part of the announcement, though? There's gonna be THREE NEW POKÉMON!

While Sword and Shield won't hit store shelves until later this year, as with any new Pokémon video game announcement, the Twitterverse freaked out.

A new movie and new games?? Pokémon sure knows how to keep the stans well fed!!
