Everyone meet Polteageist, the newest (and cutest!!!) addition to the Pokémon kingdom!

byraffy

Over the past few months, Nintendo has slowly been revealing a bunch of brand new additions to the Pokémon kingdom in preparation for the highly-anticipated Switch games Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield. Some of the new Pokémon look ferocious and tough, some look fluffy and cuddly, and others look...inexplicably cute. Polteageist, a Pokémon that is literally a piping hot pot of tea, is one of the latter.

"Polteageist is a Ghost type Pokémon that usually makes its home by hiding amongst dishes at hotels & restaurants," Nintendo of America wrote in a tweet earlier today when they announced what is surely going to be our fave new Poké-friend. "Since its body is made of tea, you may even be able to have a taste. Be careful, too much and you might not feel so well!"

Although tasting a Pokémon sounds kinda strange, once fans learned of the newest addition to the Pokémon world, they immediately voiced their excitement on Twitter. (And yes, a ton of "spill the tea" jokes were made.)

Pokémon Sword and Shield are set for release on November 15 wherever video games are sold!
