Lady Gaga Might Be Playing an Iconic Mutant In a New X-Men Movie

Marvel is reportedly eyeing the Oscar winner to join the MCU!

Wait a damn minute! Is "Rain On Me" singer and gay icon Lady Gagareally getting ready to join the Marvel Cinematic Universe?!?!

Well, according to a recent post from We Got This Covered, she just might be! An unnamed source reportedly told the geek culture/entertainment blog that Marvel Studios is eyeing the Oscar-winning A Star Is Born actress and pop music legend to play the role of iconic mutant Emma Frost in an upcoming X-Men movie.

For those not in the know, Emma Frost is a powerful AF mutant who first appeared in The Uncanny X-Men issue #129 back in 1980! (The same issue fellow mutant and bi icon Kitty Pryde first appeared in!) Emma has telepathic abilities and has the unique ability to turn her skin into a fierce-looking, diamond-like form that makes her strong AF. She's appeared in tons of comics, many of the X-Men animated shows, and was played by Mad Men star January Jones in 2011's X-Men: First Class back when 20th Century Fox was in charge of the live-action X-Men films (though X-Men fans were very unhappy with Jones' portrayal of the character).

While we didn't necessarily expect to see Gaga follow-up her critically-acclaimed, dramatic A Star Is Born role with a big-budget superhero flick, given her penchant for nerdy things, her award-winning track recording in acting, and how she was also eyed to play the iconic video game character Bayonetta (her favorite) in a possible live-action flick, we already know Gaga would absolutely slay as Emma Frost!

While all of this news does sound exciting, because We Got This Covered's source is unnamed, we, unfortunately, have to take this report with a grain of salt. Still, we'll try to be as optimistic as possible, because seeing Gaga in the MCU is something our queer, geeky dreams are made of!
