The Advocate 50th anniversary gala was a night to remember!
The Advocate—America's oldest and longest-running LGBT news and politics magazine—celebrated its 50th year of publication with a fabulous gala in Los Angeles last night. With the help of host Candis Cayne and performances by DJ Whitney Fierce, indie band K.I.D., and Twiggy (co-writer and star of the ballroom documentary Kiki), a large, festive crowd gathered at the Silver Lake neighborhood's Mack Sennett Studios, encapturing the spirit of queer pride and activism that The Advocate was founded on so many decades ago.
