Out CNBC financial guru Suze Orman laid the verbal smackdown on an author from the antigay Heritage Foundation Tuesday on Piers Morgan's CNN program.
Heritage Foundation scholar Ryan Anderson spewed the go-to conservative talking points about how marriage is based on procreation and protecting children, completely disregarding Orman's points about the economic inequality faced by committed gay and lesbian couples.
After essentially insulting Orman's 14-year relationship with her partner, Anderson says he hopes the Supreme Court upholds "our constitutional authority to have a debate on gay marriage," and agrees with Morgan's assertion that Anderson would support a felon's right to marry, but not Orman's.
Initially keeping her cool — to an impressive level, I might add — Orman finally raises her voice at the wingnut.
'"Marriage is not keeping people together, sweetheart," cries Orman, finally becoming visually agitated. "It is not doing the function you say it is."
