The Live-Action Aladdin Teaser Dropped & Fans Are Loving It
But why is Aladdin not shirtless tho???
So Disney decided they were in the mood to scalp some wigs this week and decided to give fans the first teaser trailer for the upcoming live-action adaptation of their '90s animated classic Aladdin.
Although the clip was literally only a little less than a minute and thirty seconds long, it was absolutely freakin' gorgeous and (as many fans who got excited on Twitter pointed out) exactly was what we wanted a remake of a beloved film from our childhood to look like.

Of course, some fans were a little disappointed that Aladdin himself (played by the swoon-worthy Mena Massoud) had a little too many shirts on during the teaser...
“I'm so excited to see #Aladdin but if he isn't shirtless 99.9% of the time. I'm leaving the theater.”— Mattie (@Mattie) 1539318103
“Just watched the live-action #Aladdin trailer. He's no longer constantly shirtless under his tiny vest. Fuck this.”— Dr Costa Avgoustinos (@Dr Costa Avgoustinos) 1539311838
“.@Disney If you know how the gays feel, why would you make Aladdin wear a shirt under his vest? Like you put us in such an uncomfortable situation. Like you know we’re not happy.”— Frank Costa (@Frank Costa) 1539311708
None— James Erik Kuehl (@James Erik Kuehl) 1539312032
“Making Aladdin wear a shirt under his vest is homophobic.”— DiegoVision (@DiegoVision) 1539310052
“Okay but....Aladdin is wearing a shirt in the trailer...
Disney explanation please.”— shaz (@shaz) 1539317341

...but might I remind y'all that this is just a TEASER, and I'm sure our thirsty asses will get at least a few shirtless Aladdin moments to hold us over until the film's official release.
Not much else is known about the upcoming film, but if this first look is anything to go by, viewers are in for a treat!
Directed by Guy Ritchie and starring Will Smith, Mena Massoud, Naomi Scott, Marwan Kenzari, Navid Negahban, Nasim Pedrad, Billy Magnussen, and Numan Acar, Aladdin is scheduled to hit theaters on May 24, 2019!
