Singer and actress Queen Latifah opened up in Essence magazine about sexual abuse she suffered as a child, according to Perez Hilton.
Latifah, who has long been the object of speculation as to whether or not she is a lesbian, spoke candidly to the magazine about a teenaged babysitter who sexually abused her and how it subsequently affected her.
"He violated me," Latifah told the magazine. "I never told anybody. I just buried it as deeply as I could and kept people at an arms length. I never really let a person get too close to me. I could have been married years ago, but I had a commitment issue."
