Sex and The City star Sarah Jessica Parker and husband Matthew Broderick are the proud new parents of twins -- two healthy baby girls, according to
Perez.
Barbara Walters announced the news on
The View this morning, although it was WTRF in Ohio which first reported the story.
The babies, delivered via surrogate, were born early Tuesday morning at the East Ohio Regional Hospital in Martins Ferry. The twins join 6-year-old son James Wilkie to the Parker-Broderick family.
About the surrogate mother, Sarah Jessica Parker commented: "She's made a really big choice to be part of our lives and I think she's an honorable person."
No names have been given yet to the babies, but the couple is expected to release further details later today.
This should put to rest, at least for a while, rumors that the couple was headed for a divorce.
Reports from earlier this year had it that Sarah Jessica Parker was seriously considering getting a divorce from Matthew, having grown tired of his many affairs and prolonged absences from the house. Allegedly, what refrained her from filing the papers was the lack of a prenuptial contract, which would have meant that Matthew would get half of her fortune, estimated to be at around $150 million.
Parker's rep, however, never confirmed any of these rumors.
