Of Course Donald Trump Thinks Megyn Kelly Must Have Had Her Period During the GOP Debate

How else could a woman possibly stand up to his male prowess and question him on real issues?

Unsatisfied with burning Rosie O'Donnell during the GOP debate on Thursday, Donald Trump has now turned his misogynistic aim to Fox News host Megyn Kelly, who moderated the debate pretty spectacularly. After she pressed him on his past sexist remarks, he vaguely threatened her, saying, “I've been very nice to you, although I could not be based on the way you have treated me.”

It looks like the next night, he decided to stop being his version of nice. In a conversation with CNN’s Don Lemon, Trump said, “You could see there was blood coming out of her eyes, blood coming out of her wherever.” Naturally, there was some backlash, because (and I can’t believe I have to say this) it is 100% not okay for an alleged Presidential candidate to reference a woman’s menstrual cycle. Particularly not in a pejorative fashion.

He has since attempted to clarify his statement, saying he meant “her nose” when he said “wherever.” Observers on both sides of the aisle aren’t buying it. Erick Erickson, editor of RedState.com, disinvited Trump to the RedState Gathering, where he was supposed to give a speech Saturday night.

Penny Young Nance of Concerned Women for America delivered a pretty potent burn. "Does he have a problem with women?" Nance asked in a statement Saturday morning. "Three wives would suggest that yes, maybe there's a problem. The good news is that Kelly is a mother of toddlers and knows how to deal with petulance and tantrums. Every presidential election since 1964 has been carried by women. Women don't like mean and we certainly won't vote for men or women we don't trust. Trump's biggest woman problem is how does he convince women to trust him to keep America safe?"

Megyn Kelly has been silent so far, but politicians have been coming to her side, including the GOP’s only female candidate. Carly Fiorina sent out a tweet immediately after the Trump interview aired.

It will be interesting to see how Donald Trump’s popularity as a candidate changes as a result of his anti-woman colors showing in all their glory. Hopefully it will diminish enough that he loses the spotlight. In this fight, we stand with Megyn Kelly.
