The internet has been swooning over the first openly gay athlete to qualify for the US Olympics figure skating team, Adam Rippon. Not only does Rippon skate with the grace of a goddamn swan (making the fabulous sport of ice skating even more fabulous), but he’s also freakin' hilarious.
When asked what it’s like being a gay athlete in sports, here’s what he had to say:
Well, Rippon also had some words regarding Trump in an interview with the BBC yesterday.
"I don’t think somebody like me would be welcome there," he said. "I know what it’s like to go into a room and feel like you’re not wanted."
He also added that he’s not afraid to speak out against Trump: "I think it’s important that we stand up for what we believe in and we speak out against thinks that we think are wrong and unjust."
Lastly, Rippon had some things to say about our Commander in Chief's crass language: "If I talked to people the way that President Trump talks to people, my mom would kick my ass."
Rippon, we will be rooting for you! Go give ‘em hell!
