The American Civil Liberties Union released a new public service announcement from the cast and crew of Transparent, Amazon's two-time Golden-Globe-winning and eight-time Emmy-winning show based around, written and produced by trans people.

The PSA centers around Gavin Grimm's case, which was recently dismissed by the Supreme Court and sent back to lower courts, and risks being overturned in light of the Trump administration's removal of federal guidance on the issue.

Multiple members of the cast and crew come forward in the video to explain that not being allowed to use the restroom of their choice not only affects their lives in terms of hygiene and personal health, but excludes them from participation in public life. The issue comes down to whether we want trans people living freely in this world—which should be far from anyone's domain of political power, regardless of their beliefs.

Watch the PSA below, and always be on the lookout for opportunities to be an ally to transgender students.
