Biologist and out lesbian Ranae Holland takes on the Sasquatch mystery on Animal Planet’s Finding Bigfoot, beginning this Sunday at 10 pm.

Holland posits herself as the “skeptic” of the group, going toe to toe with a group of male Bigfoot aficionados on the show, according to a release.

While she’s not an official member of the Bigfoot Field Research Organization (BFRO), she did attain an interest in Bigfoot having grown up in the 1970’s in Sioux Falls, S.D. with her father who introduced her to the Sasquatch phenomenon.

A research biologist, Holland received her BS from the School of Aquatic and Fishery Sciences at the University of Washington and went on to work for the Alaska Salmon Program.

“Ranae hopes her presence on the show will help the team apply proven scientific methodology and protocol to their expeditions, and uncover the existence, or non-existence, of Bigfoot,” according to the release.
