There are only eight semifinalists left on NBC hit singing competition The Voice and two (or 25%) are out lesbians. Clearly, as the LATimes.com re-cap headline screams, “Americas Love Singing Lesbians.”

While that other reality competition American Idol can hardly find one out competitor in the history of it’s near decade run, The Voice is overflowing with diverse talent. Last week America's votes kept Beverly McClellan on the show and last night America voted to save Vicci Martinez.

The two powerhouses brought their best to the table to fight to stay on the show Tuesday. Beverly McClellan sang "The Thrill is Gone" by B.B. King. Her performance never lacks in intensity, and last night was no exception. Watch and get chills:

Splitting our vote, Vicci Martinez, who spoke to SheWired about being on the show and coach Cee Lo Green’s recent antigay Twitter controversy, gave a joyous performance of Florence and the Machine’s “Dog Days Are Over.” It was touch and go at the beginning, but what a thrilling climax with those drums!

Audience voting closed at 7AM PST this morning. And the coaches’ votes will factor in, as well. ("The Voice" FAQ) Tune in for the results to see if Martinez and McClellan will rock on into the finals tonight, on NBC, at approximately 8:10 PM following the President’s address.

And aspiring singers make a note-- the call for season two casting is out. Let’s get it 50%-- heck, even 100% gay next year? Gays have talent, clearly.
