Chris Crocker, the face behind the viral video begging people to "Leave Britney Alone," has sold the infamous viral clip for $41,000 as an NFT.

You might be wondering, "What is an NFT?" If we're being honest, we're not really sure either...

It's technically a "non-fungible token," fungible meaning it’s unique and can’t be replaced with something else. NFT's are usually bought and sold with Ethereum, a cryptocurrency like bitcoin, but according to The Verge, "its blockchain also supports these NFTs, which store extra information that makes them work differently." Think of it as a sort of digital art collecting, but artists still retain the rights to their product.

Still confused? So are we.

Anyways, in an online auction yesterday, the "Leave Britney Alone" video sold for 18.69 Ether, or $41,000, on the Foundation app.

"I made this video as a gender-bending teenage high school dropout in my grandparent’s bedroom," said Crocker in a statement. "I had no idea the impact its message would have, years later, maybe society is finally starting to get it :-)."

Crocker also shared how they hope to use the money.

"My hope with this NFT bid ending tonight is to be able to help take care of my family & if I have enough funds, begin my transition."
