Think you know all the ways in which Dolly Parton is the absolute best? Well, Sarah Michelle Gellar revealed one more way we didn’t know about while she was guesting on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon. As it turns out, our beloved Dolly was quietly a producer on, wait for it, Buffy:The Vampire Slayer.

“Yes, little known fact,” dished Gellar, “the legend Dolly Parton was a producer.”

While Parton wasn’t involved with the day-to-day, they did get the occasional reminder that she was behind the scenes. “We never saw her,” recalled Gellar. “We’d get Christmas gifts in the beginning that would have our name, and I would think, ‘She doesn’t know who I am.’”

As it turns out, Parton did. “One day, somebody asked her about it and she complimented the show and my performance,” shared Gellar. “I was like, ‘Oh, I can die now. Dolly Parton knows who I am and thinks I’m good.’”

Parton and her producing partner Sandy Gallin formed the Sandollar Productions, which has produced various films including Father of the Bride, Sabrina, and, of course, several projects featuring Parton herself, like Dolly Parton’s Heartstrings and Straight Talk.

Not only did Sandollar produce Buffy, but it also produced the spinoff series Angel.

Gellar has recently returned to her horror fantasy roots in Wolf Pack. According to the official synopsis, “Wolf Pack follows a teenage boy and girl whose lives are changed forever when a California wildfire awakens a terrifying supernatural creature and drives it to attack a highway traffic jam beneath the burning hills. Wounded in the chaos, the boy and girl are inexplicably drawn to each other and to two other teenagers who were adopted 16 years earlier by a park ranger after another mysterious wildfire. As the full moon rises, all four teens come together to unravel the secret that connects them – the bite and blood of a werewolf.”

Wolf Pack is streaming now on Paramount+. Watch the trailer below.
