Jonathan Bennett first stole everyone’s heart as Aaron Samuels, the undisputed cutest boy in school in Mean Girls. So with an adaptation of the Tony-nominated Broadway show based on the film in the works, fans have naturally been wondering if Bennett will be back.

Turns out, he just might be! Speaking with People at the GLAAD Media Awards. Bennett dropped some seriously exciting tea. “There’s some talks going on about certain things,” he said when asked if he knew anything about the upcoming movie. “Let’s just say that,” he added.

Did you catch that, he is in talks! We love to see it.

One thing he didn’t mince words about was how much love he has for the film and its legacy. “[It’s] so fun to be a part of a movie like Mean Girls, where so many people have such a good reaction and such a heartwarming feeling when they think about our movie because it changed their lives in so many ways. It changed my life,” he said.

While the movie is a teen comedy classic, he also praised the clever way it helped to kick start discussions about bullying in school. “It made people realize what bullying was in high school. And in a lot of ways, I think Mean Girls is the first movie that actually showed what bullying was and brought it to light,” he told People. “But they used comedy with Tina Fey’s amazing writing to be able to talk about it. And I think it was an important movie for so many reasons, but for to bring light to bullying.”

While we don’t have confirmation that Bennett will be back, and if so in what role (is it too soon to speculate he’ll be a crush-worthy teacher?), the main cast of the upcoming film has been announced. Angourie Rice (Honor Society) will star as Cady Heron and Renée Rapp (Sex Lives of College Girls) will reprise her Broadway role as Regina George.

Out actor Auli’i Cravalho will star as Janis and Jaquel Spivey (A Strange Loop) landed the role of Damian. Jenna Fischer (The Office) is set to star as Cady’s mom. Busy Phillipps is everyone's favorite cool mom Mrs. George and, finally, John Hamm will take on the role of Coach Carr.
