Yesterday, the trailer for Captain America: Civil War was released, shattering the internet and causing all sorts of super-crises of faith. This latest Captain America/Avengers/Iron Man/every one else mash-up aims to challenge our alliances (and maybe our real-life friendships) as it pits the supercrews against each other, and it isn't easy to pick a side. However, when we must choose between Team Iron Tony and Team Captain Steve, we're pretty sure we know exactly who we want to stand behind. Here are 10 very real reasons why Steve (/Chris Evans) is the superhero we have need in our lives.

1. Because this was a legitimately important moment in Steve's origin story.

2. Because we are all Peggy Carter.

3. Because Steve also looks mighty fine when clothed in his super-suit, all burdened by responsiblity and honor. 

4. Because this is a jawline we can trust. 

Even when it's in a little hat.

5. Because he gets knocked down, but he gets up again. You're never gonna keep him down.

7. Because he's always there for his (literal) ride or die bro. 

8. Because Tony Stark's self-obsessed and dangerous decisions basically caused all this mess in the first place, dammit!

9. Because we wish he was slow motion running into our arms right now.

10. Because if he doesn't win the war, at least he wins the wet t-shirt contest.
