Popular content creator and beauty guru Bretman Rock is in hot water after video from 2015 resurfaced that shows him singing a song and saying an anti-Black racial slur. Once the video started making the rounds online, the #BretmanRockIsOverParty started trending, with many people letting their thoughts be known about the situation.

"Why is everybody who isn't Black so obsessed with saying the word?" user @carlysfever said. "Its an obsession. Come on, it's 2020. I promise it's not that hard."

"It’s not that hard to just not say the word," said another. "Just don’t say it?????"

In a statement on his own Twitter page, Bretman apologized for his use of the offensive, hurtful slur.

"Just woke up to a video of me resurfacing from 5 years ago, " the openly gay influencer said. "I’ve apologized for that video before & will happily do it again. It was as stupid & ignorant then as it is now. I'm no longer a 15-year-old piece of shit and I know that behavior is unacceptable...Period."

Speaking on how things on the internet don't ever really go away in this day and age of social media, he continued:

"PLEASE let this be a lesson that everything you post online stays with you. That video still haunts me to this day & I am so ashamed of it. What you think is acceptable when you're young isn't going to age well. WORDS MATTER. They hurt and they will live with you forever."
